I only assumed you made them on site as they look heavy and awkward to humph in, especially over rough ground.

We do have some awkward trees to deal with here, some that springboards might be appropriate for. Not sure how HSE would view this, would probably fall under working at height regs and need a fall arrest system to be in place, not sure if LOLER would apply....... can't think why people go abroad to work. :001_rolleyes:

Don't get me wrong it's not all bad here, but sometimes I do feel over-regulated.

oh the I'm sure the powers that be would have a hissy fit lol......after they actually worked out what they were .....that prob would take em a while. Fall arrest system is simple .............. don't fall:biggrin:........I would dread to think if they said you had to be attached to the tree as one advantage of boards is/was if it goes rats up (being polite) you can leg it lol I sure as hell wouldn't want to be attached to anything near the base of a big sod lol cause if anyone was then they'd be full of holes from my caulks running right over them on my way out

To be fair mate, axemen is a farce but even though it is dramatised every week to make it look life or death, Heli logger seems to be a little bit less yahoo. If you know what I mean.

Hmmmmmmmmm ok the thing is the comps on the shows do actually log in real life .....I worked for one of them on contract. I have never seen or been part of heli logging and never watch it lol but there are a few that do log that way

I dont watch it that much really, but I did catch an episode where the they were having an Audit for the falling licenses, if I remember.

The head faller was a Scot, who was in his 50's and had been in Canada around 30 years.

I bet it was you wasn't it? Just own up, we won't laugh that much!

I like Heli-Loggers, they look as though they know what they're doing. The other show is too much drama for the benefit of TV if you ask me.

I know a Canadian over here who wears a pair of caulks, they look the mutt's nuts, I'd definitely get a pair if you could over here. I'm not sure why you can't.
