Friends Saw Abused Resulting in it being Stoooopidly Hard to Start;

Once Started it Struggles to Stay in Idol, Then Cuts Out .. Finally Started and Revving in Full Speed .. Soon Over Heats, Looses Power and Finally Cuts Out.

Ive done so far, Cleaned All Muck Out of Carb & Internal, New S.Plug, Cleaned Air Filter & Fuel Pipes, F-Filter (No Leaks), New Muffler (No Holes in Exhaust etc), Turned Idol and Engine Speeds Down (Were both at Max or there abouts), New Fuel .. General Basic Mtnce and couple extras ..

Result: Bit Easier to Start (But Not by much) .. Holds Power Longer but Still Over Heating and cutting out.

Any other Suggestions very Welcomed as only idea left is Change Whole Piston??

How do you know its over heating????

What's the comp? Are the fins clean? Is the flywheel area clean? H's it had neat fuel in it?

Fins Clean: Y, FWheel Bay: Y. Neat Fuel: Y .. Over Heating as its Smoking And Case is Much Hotter Than Usual

He watched some YouTube and got himself a Saw:thumbup1:

Then its ring and possibly cylinder is shot. Neat fuel instead of mix will only end one way.

Get it comp tested.

If it wasn't new it may be the old owner has done s one thing to it. Better get the saw tested.

Remove the exhaust and look into the port. What state is the piston in? Take a pic and put it up.

Port itself was Built Up with Carbon mate n pure Black .. Could be previous owner as matey Phil (New owner of Saw) Knows Fuel would need a mix?? Thought could be Cylinder Head has Chip or Rings are Old as Everything else on saw is looking good / Replaced with new bits n pieces. Know how to change it thanks Rich2484 and Stubby dudes .. Would rather have second opinions then Changing parts which didnt need Changing.

Thanks Again.!!!

I Spy with My Camera Eye .. a Chip In the P.Head

Nice one for that lads :thumbup1:

Call me Mr Thicky but your air injection duct is on back to front - that thing that looks like a mini tuba should be facing toward the rear handle.

Is this melting on the cylinder?

Can you take a better picture of that piston - difficult to tell what it is like.

If it has many scored lines running vertical across the surface through the exhaust port then it is shot!
