Stil 032 AV - instant electrical cut out

032 AV that runs great, but stalls after cutting in wood briefly - will seemingly idle all day. The stop is almst instantaneous - no warning - just sudden still death of engine.

Take HT lead and plug out and there's no spark.

Leave it to cool for half hour and the spark returns.

Will have to dive in and guessing there may be points? Any previous experience of this sudden cutting out? Could it be related to points or coil? Scanning the net I'm not the first to get this but haven't come across any solution.

Cheers

Just like Rich says, its most likely to be the coil. The points are just a mechanical switch and cant really go wrong on a random basis.

The coil part number is 1113 400 1305 and the last price I have against is £83.81 plus vat. I am not sure if it is still available OE, would have to check.
