Just wondering if anyone use's a LDV Convoy as an arb truck.... been offered one as a second truck at a good price!. under the bonnet it looks like my transit.

any advice on this matter would be a good help! cheers Matt.:thumbup1:

First chip truck I bought, was an 04 reg, loved it, carried a lot. Towed well, never missed a beat, was VERRRRY slow haha but it wasn't for racing about in.

Thanks Steve have a transit at the moment are they as reliable this is a bit newer than my transit so should be good for a few years and might become the main work vehicle

On my 2nd LDV, great engines, tough as old boots, just rusts away if you don't look after the underside. They spent their money on the good engines and built them with tin foil.

 

If it doesn't look rusty then should be ok if you look after it

the one i've been offered is excouncil looks ok on the chassis!! worth a punt?

We've had 3 over the years. In fact my first 3 vehicles we're convoys. Still have one. You don't want to be doing long distance with them, and it sometimes pays to have your ear defenders on whilst driving. As said previously, they are usually good reliable work horse trucks. I wouldn't go fo a crew cab as they are overloaded with a team of 2 and a suite of saws before you even start putting chip and wood on the back.
