You could be right Tony, reading up on it, the fingers can fuse together and polymorpha means many forms, but I'm not overly convinced either way, didn't give it a second thought at the time. Don't know how to do a thumb up!

Will the Xylaria just be hollow and crumble? I know the Daldinia has the concentric rings but do they always persist or can they become hollow when desiccated?
