Just having some problems with my entec chipper, its the 2000 model with the 4cylinder kubota diesel engine,

when i start her up and leave it on tickover every 30/40 secs the revs drop right down to nearly stalling and back up again and it does this constantly but never stalls, so when im chipping the revs drop down and obviusly feed rollers stop when it does it!?

any ideas??

sounds like a fuel problem. Check filters or change and check fuel tank. There may be crap at the bottom of the tank restricting flow

Fuel problem. It's hunting for revs.

Change fuel filter. Clean air filter. Check tank for pickup filter and clean. Normally just blow back down the fuel line.

Has it been run on empty not so long ago?

Mr Timberwolf

I have a entec with the old metal fuel tank which is full of muck, how do you recommend one cleans this out as there is no drain plug, my dealer says cut a hole in it, this seems a bit extreme.

If there is no drain plug fitted, the tank will have to be removed from its location and inverted to remove any debris within, alternatively you could upgrade your tank to the current specification plastic type with a drain plug.

If you would like instructions on how to retro fit this please call the Technical Helpline on 01449 765820 they will be happy to discuss the options with you.

I done my tank a few years back.

Not that bad a job once you get into it. Remove tank, cut a hole in the fuel side of the tank on the top big enough to get your hand or any tools you need into. I cleared all the rust and crap out, then cut another piece of steel bigger than the hole. I made a gasket out of a tyre inner tube and then sealed in back up with self tappers.

Done this on a few land rover tanks in the past. And the odd tractor and combine tanks aswell.

Not hard to do at all. Just remember to empty the tank of all fuel before you go cutting with power tools:blushing::blushing:
