This makes my blood boil. In a similar position with my MB Trac you expect the Unimog experts to do a professional job but when they changed my clutch they forgot to tighten up the engine sump plug. First long journey and the plug dropped out dropping the oil and doing the damage. Tackled the unimog dealer who denies liability saying that he did not drop the oil when he took the engine out. Fortunately I recovered the sump plug which clearly shows the specialist tool had been used in the sump plug. Totally agree with you Ash fight your corner and I wish you the best of luck. Trading standards have been excellent for us but it is still going to take legal action to recover the cost of a replacement engine which you dont expect from a "reputable" unimog dealer. In the meantime anyone know of a good 6 cyl OM352 engine for sale at the moment cheapest option is a Merc short engine for £4800.

ouch!!

good luck with finding a good engine!

i ended up buying another mog when i needed an engine for mine & breaking it it took time but got some good money back from the parts i sold so ended up not being that expensive! but still was an inconvience!
