Number 5 (in the pop pickers chart) was a single bracket high up in the canopy of a pond side Populus x canadensis - hybrid black poplar

Noted in 2011

A quarter of the canopy of that pop eventually split out in to the pond.

 

That particular branch had lost its sail at some point in high winds.

 

Sits on the causeway below the men's swimming pond

mmmmmmm.........er no, not that i could remember. Was thinking of that beech with the mad butt near the fishing pond at the top but on second thoughts i think it was rigidoporus.

Riveting ramblings to me, I'm slowly putting together a database of my fungi sightings but Fomes is not there (yet) ! Shall have to look harder.:thumbup1:
