Hi, can any one tell me if douglas fir can be used for fire wood, i have been offered some standing and need to work out most profitable use for it, i will be greatfull for any ideas.

i did some last year, it was about 90 feet straight as a dye and about 30 inches across the base without many branches, you could split it with an axe.

and pine burns great. its all down to moisture. i did them this time last year and it was pretty dry looking:001_smile:

Zoiks guys, burn douglas fir? Its one of the best timbers we can get. Sell it as sawlogs.

 

i couldnt give it away last year mate, i still have about 6 8 foot lenghts that my dad is going to mill for benches

Hi,

What sizes are the Douglas firs? I know some one that is looking for some (artic load) if they of the right size. Where are you?

 

I am looking for some more Cedar. Must be 3.6m or more long & min 10" at the top but pref more. Looking for about 1/2 artic load but more for the right price.

as it stands there over 100ft so can cut any lengths and range from 30-50in in diameter (just a rough guess need to mesure but wont be far off), based in somerset but could deliver or work something out.
