Friday night, the client came home, stepped indoors and heard this fall. A few seconds later he would have been under it.

 

I just want his lottery numbers, although they may be useless cos I reckon he's had all the luck he's ever going to have.

Had this to play with a few weeks bacl.Lucky no one was in the house at the time, As it hit the roof and a limb had gone in to the bedroom via the roof

What caused it to lay down?

 

Looks like a combination of a restricted root zone, root loss possibly due to construction works and long term water logging/anaerobic soil. Lots of small dead (black & no bark ) roots.

 

There 's a larger pine, in a similar environment , to the other side of the property which felt to be lifting this afternoon. That's 6m from the neighbours bungalow and weighted their way.
