started this beech dismantle today, got a good half of it rigged out and rung up and chipped between the 2 of us. back again friday to see how far we get with the rest of it, the wind played havoc today blowing a absolute gail in the worst direction possible. had a early day i only did about 5 hours up the tree, on the ground at 2pm hopefully friday wont be as windy.

Ringing up timber is the killer. Removed a medium sized oak today possibly (roughly the same size as yours) on the coast 21mph winds so i decided to go big and get home. Worked well but the crown sections were flapping around a fair bit.

Ain't that the truth! especially when you start it mid afternoon.

That's when some mechanical help is a godsend.

yes a 3rd man would have made a difference but still would have been a 2 day job, ive got a 3rd man for friday when we go back just so he can be logging up and loading up the truck with wood and tipping off where the few neighbours are having loads of logged up wood. aye we were doing big sections 2 ian most of them stems were 2 cuts and they were down to the union we were on the coast aswell was rather gusty!

certainly was big enough, confirmed to me why i dont and never will give a quote from a picture. the big cuts you can see at the unions are over 20inches if that helps scale it abit. :thumbup1:
