ok so, have enlisted the help of one of the chaps on here who can splice to start designing/constructing a pulley saver

 

And i think all of us have had cold soggy tackle allot recently

my rope has taken up semi permanent residence in the airing cupboard

dude, been there done that. When i turf everything out my ropebag so ropes can go in the washing machine its carnage. oil, twigs, ivy, sawdust, bark, bottle of water etcc...

 

Hi mate, how do you wash your ropes in the machine, water temp, detergent etc

Ropes and cord go in the washing machine just on a 30 min wash no powder or anything , friction cord comes up like new its pretty astonishin.

 

Check the weight limit of your washing machine mine moves around the kitchen when my ropes go in. Everything comes out in a massive knot but gleaming.

Which do you prefer out of you pulley saver and your multisaver? Been thinking about replacing the small sliding ring on my multisaver with a pinto?

Honestly?

Multisaver....

 

For anything bigger than a couple of pulls to access I use SRT

For chogging down on spikes I choke single line with a running bowline and use a fig 8 for descent.

If I'm working a small tree ddrt I'll either climb up or use my little telescopic ladder then set the multisaver purely as a cambium saver. It's that bit lighter and less bulky to hang off the harness and retrieves easier.

The only time I would use the ps is if there's no suitable vaguely horizontal limb to hang it off, then I'll choke on the pulley saver.

So in reality ps only gets used when I choose to just for a change....

 

I like making up lanyards, have a 4m Xtc, 6m OP and 10m+ aeris.

Long game is to learn to splice, then I can make up what I really want
