Old mills, why the base anchor on a removal? i find its more of a PITA.

 

It's not a base anchor, its the left side of my line just hanging. Can be used for retrieval on pruning jobs.

Because its hanging loose I can throw it out the way of the area I'm working in.

I set up this way so that I don't have a long tail of rope on the ground annoying the groundies.

If its undesirable to have it hanging like that, it can be coiled up at the TIP so that it out the way.
