We advertised in YP for one year, got one call, one decent job - which led to dozens more decent jobs and many new clients, in fact, you could almost trace the entire lineage of our business growth back to that one advert.

However, it was just one call. So we didn't advertise with them again, not to mention they were a pain in the backside to deal with. And this was all way back in probably 2004.

We took the judgement that it was a freak event and on the basis that none of use ever used YP, we didn't feel that others like us, who we were targeting, would be either.....

It's very sad, J.R Hartley, the French polisher etc are strong memories of youth, YP was an institution, but things move on, to coin a phrase, our fingers did the walking.....

We are having the same problem ourselves and they are asking for payment for undercharging in 2009,10,11

That will be shining bright I told them. They are on a par with BT, the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing.

Useless I would say!

All good points people . I shall take on board all this and get a small web page . I do think that YP are trying to pull the wool over my eyes with this odd payment . Its just cost them , no more money from me :001_smile:

Paul, I dropped them 4 years ago. Invest your money in a decent website and maybe use a local mag.

I use Go Local which covers Middlewich area.

You could try Effective Directories which cover your patch mate.

PS hows the jo Beau

If you've payed the bill your safe. Could be a new idea but I suspect they are laying of staff to cut costs and the poor buggers left are overworked and making mistakes

Finally got round to checking my payments and it turns out the invoice had been paid I have the date, time, person I spoke to with extension number what card I paid with and they even sent me a receipt!

This is a big scam which if I had time should be reported to watchdog or similar they would happily take your money again which is very wrong!

Based on what we are reading, I doubt if they would realise we weren't there!

Yeah your probably right, They won't be getting any further business from me, Saying that my little log ad with a link to the website did bring in a fair bit of business this winter.
