Someone I knew has a petzl hi vis helmet (I think was petzl) bought it for about £110, left it on the floor and a log landed on it and it smashed to bits!

Imo a comfortable one is good enough, I have a petzl alveo vent in yellow.

vertex vent here too, on my second one (last one served me 5 and 1/2 years - still fine but thought i ought to get a new one!).

In all honesty though tombo, you need to put a few on your head mate to find which one fits you best! for example I liked the look of the stein fighter pilot style lids but when i tried it it didnt fit my noggin!!

Depends what you want for your money, comfort or safety?not many out there what give both.

If you fancy a ghange go for vertex if not just up date what you use to having.

Always difficult when having to renew and or change any part of your kit and helmit even more so.
