Been supplying a mate with logs for 18 months now.. I usually deliver them to his house, stack them in his log store and shed and charge him a bit less than my normal price. Get a text this afternoon "I'm logless, any chance of some more but can I have some that burn this time. That last load was crap. It wouldn't stay alight unless the air regulator was wide open."

I replied asking what was wrong with having the regulator open (doesn't fire need oxygen?) and he replied "The clue is in the name.!"

So I told him the only supplier I knew of with much drier stuff was providing kiln dried and its 50 quid more than mine...and if he wants a delivery he is no. 14 on the list. Silence!!!

They were obviously so bad he used them all and wants more! He complained last year that three year seasoned oak I supplied him was dripping wet, you could see the water running out of it...what did he do? Apparently chucked it in the stream by his house...but he didn't come back for more until 4 weeks after I delivered..so what did he burn in the meantime?

Have a courageous discussion with him. If he really is a mate, it's worth broaching the subject of his lack of respect for you. Clear the air in a constructive way. If it all goes South at least you'll know where you are with the relationship.

Don't let it fester. The only person that looses will be you if you do.
