Timberwolf 150 engine temp

can anyone tell me if the TW 150's have got an engine cutout if they get too hot, as there is no temp gauge or warning light, cos sometimes on a warm day on connies they work damn hard and just wondering if they would cut out before any damage was done, thanks.

Yes mine has, it's a 2008 150 VTR. I had it cut out on me once when chipping dusty connys and the rad got blocked. S&S£@t myself, but its meant to do it.

Rest assured, your TW150 has a temperature switch fitted to the thermostat housing on your Kubota engine, if the engine temperature gets too hot it will indeed shut the engine down.

The oil system works in a similar way, if the oil pressure is low this also will shut the engine down.

Just to add something here....it is a water cooled engine (same as most in woodchippers) and you have to have water/antifreeze mix in the radiator and air flow through the radiator to cool said fluid! The sensor cannot sense hot air in the engine!

I don't see where anyone has mentioned wAter or antifreeze?? The engine compartment can get to hot due to the fan not drawing enough cool air through the the rad, the water then heats up and trips the switch.

what he means is if there is coolant loss the sensor can't detect the engine temp therefore no shutdown
