I had that problem with my old laptop with my vids, i got the new imac and it works fine with vids on that, they are massive files when in hd, cant you compress the file before you play it?

not sure about compressing James, I'll look into it.

Do you know what size the processor on your Mac is?

Drift recommend at a video card with least 256MB of video RAM

First impressions are (having compared it against on line footage of earlier drift models and against using a Go pro 2 recently) is that it is very good quality :thumbup1:

The vids are playing fine on the Pc whilst attached to the ghost (recorded at 1080), but when replayed after saving to the hard drive they are juddery & out of sync with the audio.

What's the simple answer to this for a headcam-simpleton ?

Hi dave, it could be something as simple as defragmenting your computer, although if the files are as big as the gopro you need some memory to allow background tasks to work. I need to add more space to mine as i have 490gb of tree work related footage. :blushing: I know, i know im a loser

Sometime downloading a free compressor file can sort these problems, i compress everything from 1080p to 720p for youtube as it can only really cope with 720p and you only need higher if you using a projector or a huge ass flat screen tv.

Hope this helps or gives some ideas, oh also clear you internet cache as this takes some background tasks space which could free up the glitches

Video card has 512mb of memory

I never no what all the specs mean if you go on the apple store on the new imac you can see all the specs

If it's just generating the image on screen which is the issue, you can buy replacement video cards on ebuyer and fit them yourself, I replaced the one in my workstation with an uprated nvidia one after lots of things blew up inside it, easy job. Making sure it's compatible is the tricky bit.

If it's ram you're short of that's a cheap clip in option as well.

The main processor is less simple I think, it's part of the mother board and tied in with your operating system. Ram and video cards are 'plug in peripherals' though so far as the PCM is concerned, just like printer but inside the box.
