New range of solid silver pro Sugihara bars are HERE!

Finally the next shipment of Sugihara bars are here. This covers all the smaller length bars and all are the pro versions i.e. non laminated, single piece steel.

I would say that the fastest selling will be the 15" Husky running .325 chain for 346, 560 etc. There is a 4 month lead time, I'll be putting another order in beginning April so the next shipment will be around 1st August. These will sell out long before then.

Jonsie has taken a full range and they will be in his shop upstairs as well as on the FR Jones website.

Also a few interesting bars which I'll do a thread on each. First is a 14" lightweight solid bar with replaceable sprocket nose that has a smaller diameter for more control. Have been playing around bore cutting with this today just to experiment - it seems to work very well.

To arbtalkers will be £48-00+vat less 10% so £43-20+vat.

Buy here Guide bars

Features:

  • One of the only single piece solid bars on the market but with lightweight cut out sections filled with resin.
  • Stiffer and longer lasting.
  • Smaller radius nose sprocket for more control.
  • Weighs 440g - the only other single piece bar is a cannon which weighs 647g.
  • Replaceable sprocket nose
  • Looks good!

I haven't uploaded all the bars on the site - so bear in mind the white painted ones are the laminated ones not the pro single piece ones!

Will take me over the weekend to do.

I'd say yes but then I would do wouldn't I!

Sugihara have made bars for 50 years, that's what they do but no doubt time will tell....

Either way they look a lot better!

Better than cannon bar?

Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

It'll be another Stihl/Husky debate!

It's hard to say at this stage but if we look at the facts:

  • Take a 20" Cannon cost £87-00+vat - Sugihara equivalent £61-00+vat (£55-00+vat to arbtalkers). So the Sugihara bars are up to 1/3rd off cannon prices.
  • They are finished far better than cannon bars.
  • The x3 rivet attachment of nose to bar is stronger
  • There is a larger range - i.e. the lightweight versions
  • They look better and feel better to use (IMO) i.e. more positive, stiffer, smoother in and out of the cut.
  • Durability - time will tell.... but they have a good reputation.

Forgot to ask if you also have any 20" for use with the mini mill!

I have a 20" in the Stihl mount and 18" in the Husky...

Unfortunately I didn't get more of the 24" and 36" pro Husky mounts in this shipment so none of these for 5 months.... :sneaky2:
