I am currently writing my online application letter for an arb course at Pershore college.

And I was looking for any tips or what to include for the ' Please tell us a bit about yourself. Your interests, any work you've done and your future plans.'

I have no real experience on the job but I have used a chainsaw to cut firewood and I work on my aunt's farm over the holidays. Will that be enough once it is fleshed out or should I write about more stuff and if so, what?

List all your relevant experience and hobbies.

Say why you want to study arb and what you want to be doing in 5-10 years time.

Don't overdo it - keep it short and to the point would be my advice. Just demonstrate some passion for the subject.

Similar to Pauls advice really.

Bearing in mind that your app may need to jump & stand out ahead of a large number of other candidates.

What inspires you to want to work with trees?

What is your current level of knowledge regarding tree species and tree biology?

I started 28 years ago answering a similar application by stating that my knowledge of trees included knowing what a conker tree was !

I don't think they held it against me

I sent mine in to myerscough a few weeks ago and strait away got offered an interview, BUT I allready spoke to the main tutor about the course, my plans etc. And my age and that of the other students, so that may have speeded something up.
