Dead Cedar removal

Last Wednesday I dismantled this cedar. I snatched it off itself even though it was pretty rotten but wasn't once anchored into the tree itself. It all went very smoothly and smelt damn good.

I was anchored into the tree behind just incase the cedar gaveway under the strain of the chumps being lowered off it.

did you have your side strop on the cedar?

after felling it and seeing the trees condition would you have felt confident in climbing it, has it re asured you on how strong a dead tree can be or are you glad you didnt because it was gooosed:001_smile:

Only when attaching the lowering rope doing my gob cut mate. It did give me a lot of confidence on how strong a dead tree can be, obviously each tree is different but that one would have been no problem climbing.

you did it the right way, but now if you come across similar in a back garden with no other trees you will have some new found knowledge and confidence under your belt. well done. by the looks of the winch it wasnt a tirfor, just watch them i know of 2 that have broke under pressure.

if it was a tirfor nice one.
