Chinese saw

Bought a chinese saw a few months ago on ebay and its a fantastic job, much prefer it to my old stihl 028. I can buy 2 chains and a bar for about £20 from the same seller. My question is are these chains worth sharpening, i've tried it a few times but they're never as good as when they were new, a new chain cuts for about 10 hours like a dream. Thanks in advance.

At the risk of sounding a knob ...Do you know how to sharpen ? Sorry if you do bud ..

Ah yeah stubby, i brought them to a local saw guru and he sharpened them with his machine, but they just were'nt the same as when brand new.

You can't sharpen better than a file . Thats why . You need to learn to sharpen up with a file matey .

If he has ground them check the depth gauges , Probably too high now ....

Learn with a file.

 

A grinder is ok but if you are not carefull you will heat up the cutter and cause it to blunt quick when used.

No chain is as good as when its new. When they get to 25% they are gone. Its just not worth it when you are trying to get buried quick and fast in mature Douglas' butt. Bin it and try to keep it out the dirt FOREVER!
