walnut reduction

having never touched a walnut tree is it too late to reduce this also a copper beech .the client has just bought this property and invited us to look at it .i should add he wanted "quite abit off" but am very cautious as it is a prominent tree any advice on how much can be taken off at this time of year welcome

Imho wait until the walnut is in leaf otherwise it'll bleed like a stuck pig.

yes, if he is quick, and he is in Fife so he has a week more than me at the very least!

Always left walnut's until in full leaf. Beech should be ok now.

i agree, but if a client HAS to have it done and your pushing it to the wire, it can be done as long as theres not been a week of steady rising temps and sun
