Woking, arborfield, bordon, Hazelmere all frequented quite a bit, normally in a drunken state.

Catterick I went back to a few years back, the garrison itself has changed massively but Richmond where I used to drink has changed very little suprisingly. Just a shame it's spoilt by squaddies :001_smile:

They knocked down the scorpion thank god about 5yrs ago, better known to locals as scabs.:001_tongue:

Thought it would be an interesting thread for those of us old enough to have non digital cameras to post some old photos. I was just going through a few and scanning them to digital.

These photo's were me 24 years ago :scared1:, I can't believe how good looking I am. :001_tongue:.... eeerm was.

1st is obviously when I was a squaddie based at Catterick 1984, used to be a mechanic.

2nd is receiving my cup at Bisley in 1985, note all the little Gurkhas in the back ground, Bless

Shot at Bisley as well. Long rifle from 300m and 500m. Was with school and great week of beer and shooting. What was the trophy for? Did you see the long range there? Crazily far!

Only went to the Scorpion once, I wanted to live.

I saw the long range, they were using lee enfields on there too, and had huge sticks with big white circles on to show where the shot hit. The trophy was for British forces pistol champion.

Good work. How long were you in the forces?
