Bit like pure oak. Weighs heavy so don't always get full load on for 25-26 ton..

Some don't like pure beech as its bit slow burning..

95 % of woodlands around me in the chilterns are beech so its cheap.

 

HI NICK beech as you no is very good ONLY IF VERY WELL SEASONED give out lots of heat :thumbup1:jon :thumbup:

I do logs with my neighbour for our own use so we don't have big machinery, are the lengths of beech manageable by hand or is it a forklift/ manitou?

 

HI GYP all ours is tractor loader work as small gets nicked but yes small ok by hand large too is ok just have large butts off the ground it better cut them thanks jon :thumbup:
