Substandard materials, poor safety testing if any. As was mentioned earlier these are a rebranded copy of the fake stihls. Think about how many tests they do on a stihl or husky to make sure its safe. You end up with a quality product thats safe to use. I highly doubt any tests were done on that saw.

That is just an advert for stihl.

If there are so many millions of them out there on the market and in peoples sheds, And they are death traps, where are the fatalities ????

aldi sold a chainsaw for £99 not that long ago!

I never said they were death traps but the test does show the build quality of Chinese saws. In the event of a severe kickback I know which saw I'd rather be hanging on to.

So it's just over £100 ex vat. Assuming they're marking up a standard 50% then they're buying from China @ £65-70. The Chinese manufacturer also makes a profit at this price.

You have to wonder how they cut their costs and make a serviciable product!

It is what it is: a cheaply constructed copy utilising inferior materials that is not designed to last.
