When vehicle is put into 4wd vehicle it struggles to move but does a bit. So engine struggles then cuts out, almost like auto shut down. Apparently it does it in high and low range.

Any ideas? It's fine in 2wd, vehicle has been stood for a few months.

Read something on a forum about a vacuum operation to engage hubs??.

Also read something about freezing up of mechanism??

Any ideas appreciated.

Its n the wrong forum mate. Contact a mod and get it over to the arb trucks forum. Might get a bigger audience.

I don't know much about the ranger I'm afraid. But was thinking along the lines of the vacuum pressure. Not sure on how to test it. Have you tried removing the lines and seeing if there is pressure there? Other than if the gearbox oil and diff oils are ok.
