I did my PTS as i was going to work on the lines and then got another offer for a job and took that instead but still have the ticket just never actually worked on the rail.

 

It is super easy, you learn about distances from the tracks and overhead lines were to stand what the voltages are for different lines, train speeds etc. Its the sort of exam that you would proberly pass even if you didnt do the course and just sat the exam. Just pay attention and its easy

 

Its not partially directed at tree work which is on the verges but work actually on the tracks but still relevant and key to safety.

 

My overall favorite part was when i did my drugs and medical i had to wee in front of a small Chinese man :thumbup1:

Sounds straight forward enough and a lot of common sense then. I know the phonetic alphabet like the back of my hand and radio procedure thanks to my time in the forces. I better hope the nurses arnt little hotties then when I'm peeing in to the cup :blushing::blushing:

Just remember they don't find it funny when you fill the sample cup brimful!, especially if they have the shakes!! To those whose are childish like me it's funny!!

Well that's me just back from Glasgow via ikea for my sins but I've passed the PTS course. It was all very straigh forward but quite interesting so now I just need to find the work and get the ticket used. Any advice on companies to contact is appreciated
