a good soak in a reasonable warm bath (for your rope! suppose you could jump in too) followed by in a pillow case in a washing machine. In work we use a steam cleaner that gets sap and dog mess off a treat. I have also used the not bothering technique that works aswell.:thumbup:

for cleaning sap off hands you can use mayonaise. i have used it and it works a treat, and just lifts the sap off your hands!

is that a proper steam cleaner or a jet wash

steam cleaner would be a bit hot and the problem with jet washers as well are they fire the crud in to the rope

for what it costs proper rope cleaner stuff has got to be the best for ropes and last stuff i got was only £6 from landmark and will do loads of washes I also got the weaver rope wash bag from them and washing machine for £10 from local paper
