No, AHS had the lot. The whole contract was for 2000 trees, most of them big gnarly old pops, and they chipped every stick for biomass. Our job was only a drop in the ocean really.

 

was that the contract that was advertised in the btm last year?

it rings a bell.

It wasnt all that tempting, even from down here. The work was great, but the contract gave a lot of people a lot of sleepless nights and unpleasant conversations with bank managers ect.

 

The companies that did best out of were the small subcontractors such as myself, the main players didnt end up with much change after paying all the bills!

right so its a hybrid black poplar, just bare my original dimensions in mind the bark is really deep and this is the better side of the crack, and sorry i didnt take the photos

What was the original height and how many were pollarded to 4 meters?

 

The original height varied between 40' and 80-90'.

 

Over the whole contract, I have no idea, on the jobs we did, around 30-40 trees.
