Still got no camara sorry. Today i found two more trees with grifola one of them has it neally all round so istarted taping with the hammer and it was like paper on one side then i saw small gamoderma in a crease which one hollowed it out do you think answers on a postcard:001_smile:

Pholiota squarrosa & Meripilus giganteus on Fagus

hi spotted this fungi (Pholiota squarrosa) in your picture on the base of an alive crataegus and thought it was another type of fungi (but not sure what), does pholiota go this bright yellow/orange with out the shaggy bits as in your pic?...sorry did not have my camera but certain it was the same as in your picture but I could not ID it correctly. Am not picking holes just trying to improve my knowledge ...cheers steve

Hmmmmm.........I see your point. Shall research some more.

 

Did have a niggling doubt that the shaggynous and excentuated colour did not quite match on the two specimens. :confused1:
