one of the mxyos for sure but I cant remember the name of it offhand, found lots of it recently too, the slime moulds etc love this damp warm weather.

Got another couple of shots of the fung on the log. It was turning into a sticky slime when you touched it with your fingers. [insert inuendo here:lol:]

Cool. I have some chicken on a Cherry plum and a Cherry. I am waiting for them to fail as they have a heavy lean and are on a SW facing edge of the wood.

Not sure what it is looking on the fungi app for it but i dont know im still learning to use it but here it is on an ash tree good healthy looking crown no dead wood but what is it and whats the causes .

I would think that your fung is Polyporus sqaumosus, fair bit of it around currently.

Have a look on the directory above & the app gallery for that species.

cheers for that dave that looks much better i think there may be the possibility that this tree may be condemed due to its location.

about 8 feet away from a major building entrance and car park high target zone you know the story.

few bits from today.

My first Amanita of the year A. rubescens - the blusher

Laetiporus sulphureus squeezing out of this ooak bollard

& mature Lycogala - (groening's slime) on this old lump of dead

Spotted a Russula at the weekend, but too slugged up to get a meaningful shot.
