Interesting find yest. Considerable internal decay evident at 2m between buttresses via lesions which have formed. And this hungry looking little guy at about 6m. Couldn't get close enough to say what it is. Laughably the tree has been tagged(evidently it has weathered)but as I frequently see clients not actioning remedial works recommended putting them potentially in a far more precarious legal position. In a way I'm super glad its still there for me to see but is of equal concern.

Not unusual, but more often at the base.

Guess that's where we all mostly look for fruiting bodies.

 

 

Not sure of species based on those images but would hazard a guess at G. australe

Colourful little blighter found in my garden today, book tells me it's verdigris toadstool (stropharia aeruginosa)

A chance encounter with a solitary wrinkled peach (Rhodotus palmatus) whilst out inspecting dead elm regen.

Everytime I see fungi I take a photo and think I'll try to identify it and put it on here. But I've been busy and then got more and more. So tonight I'm going to spend an hour trying to do it.

Second one is Rigidoporus ulmarius, the cinamon to orange coloured tube layer is the key ident feature.

 

 

The ones on the stump are Sulphur tuft - Hypholoma fasciculare
