why not hey????

I remember cutting through the hinge on a massive beach on a shelter belt when i just came out of college..getting the 3120 stuck and having to undo the power head before it finally spun on the stump and went over backwards bending the bar i was not to populer that day ,have never cut through a hinge since though..

Do you mean bore out the center of the hinge on a section your trying to push out? surely it would be easier and safer to just put a pull rope on it if its being that stubborn?

I've never done it or ever seen anyone do it in the tree.

I occasionally bore out the center when pulling over Stems i've stripped, it seems to make it easier, I don't like doing it on trees with full crowns.

i call them sap cuts, its a must when topping out a tree, or on anything thats slightly rippy/splitty.

works 99.9% of the time and has got me out the shite a few times!!!!

and i only cut out the middle of the hinge if it a huge tree and i only have a small saw..........
