Dolmar ps410 worth fixing?

hi all,I have a dolmar ps 410 that expired a while ago.At the time I replaced it with a stihl ms181 to finish a job, now over the holidays I decided to strip the dolmar out of boredom!

It looks as though piston ring has stuck and there are signs of blowby on piston sides. The bore seems in good order so maybe a new piston & ring (40mm) also needs a brake band is it worth doing?

The fixed saw will be worth around £80 - 100 but the value is perhaps in learning more about the saw and what makes it work!

Thanks for that, seems cheap enough to repair.Looks very similar to makita except for the colour?

Makita aquired Sachs Dolmar to break in to the chansaw market - similar saws in the main but not one of the ranges I am that famillier with. If you find it shares parts with the Dolmar 100, I have some spare parts for one of those!

Just checked - Dolmar 100 has a 37mm piston!

The makita and the dolmar version are basically the same saw with different colored plastic. If you notice Makita models will have dcs before the model # which stands for dolmar chainsaw. The 401 makes a nice little saw ported also.
