this is a common problem in the army, and have suffered from it myself its not pleasent, its good to see people are aware that resting up is not going to solve the problem. i do alot of weight training so my back (lower) is getting stronger. a good exercise for you tree monkey, once you have got out of a hot bath, lay on the floor face down, put your handsunder your shoulders and push yourself up tilting your head back untill you start to fell presure on your lower back, hold it for 20-30 seconds and push a little further for another 5 seconds, release and repeat this 4-6 times. try and do it in the morning and at night before bed. should work for you mate or atleast make it feel a little more comfortable and loosen it up.

I feel your pain! What painkillers are you using (if any).

 

It took me about 5months for it to get better, it will happen if you can get by in the meantime then you will be fine eventually.

 

Just strong ibuprofen really, got some cocodamol (sp.) In the cupboard if it gets really bad.

 

Only back at work on the 7th as we go centre Parcs on Sunday, might spend a few days in the spa!:lol:
