cheers for the insights lads. I take heed the advice! I'll go with the 32, quite a bit beaver lugging around but it'll bemore effective, so worth it. And i'll limit the tree stumps around 6-8 inches, i'll grind the rest.

Grubbing stumps put isn't a "who has the biggest" contest, its about a bit of pull, a lot of leverage and some dirty digging and chopping, if you havent got the leverage you are going to need something a LOT bigger than a tirfor and a good anchor point.

I remember when my and my lass went to winch out 12 conifer stumps 12" largest dia.... tirfor onto back of truck.... took some doing! even broke an old topping strop! Hard work but do able if thats all you have!
