Im not sure if you missed something, i think paul is saying if you go above your anchor you can strop in advance you anchor with a sling or move the whole anchor. exactly in the same way as DRT.

But if it is base tied you will need a grounder to untie it to move the same as ddrt , but I now understand how you mean Paul , like installing redirects along your route to stop what I was talking about , very interesting . Do you use this method often , sorry for straying away from topic

Ian Flatters technique of using slings & karabs to advance the TIP is excellent and I've used it a few times recently, on seven trees yesterday.

It's extremely safe and I think that it would reinforce good working practice for a trainee.

A DdRT trainee learns to lanyard in constantly while learning to climb the tree. This is a skill missed on the SRTWP trainee because they are Bigshotting into every tree.

Agreed.sorry it was out of context.i didn't understand but now I think I'm clued in.

You strop in then advance yeah?

Jake with your arms stretched out above your head its easy to set a sling and bina, then while your stropped in take some slack in the line and clip into the bina where you have put the sling, and so on, hope this is clearer :thumbup1:

also if your running bowlined in and have advanced your tip anchor with say two strops you can set the final anchor advance as retrievable like in drt but on one line. dmm revolver and small mallion basket hitched over a branch.

Sorry again I misread , you mean strop in like ddrt and redirect your line as you go , I think I have it now guys haha

:thumbup1: thats the one. You see the more you look at it the more they have the same advances just different climbing style.
