Looking to buy a RIKO circular with elevator; already have a11 splitter which I love; but don't you just wish quality stuff was made here?! Sorry but Oxdale just looks a bit quaint. Ryetec? Just too expensive.

Pretty sure Ryetec don't actually make any of the stuff they sell do they? The Blue stuff they sell/or used to originally was B3 stuff from Italy I think.

 

And isn't the Oxdale saw a repainted Roselli?

Well that answers that! Looked at BGU but they don't seem to have an elevator. Going down the billet route means saw and elevator

For billets, I really like the HAkki Pilke Eagle as the cone splitter comes in quite handy for any f the bigger bits that get through, but you'd have to have a separate elevator which would be a pig for transport.

 

If it was just to be used in the same yard all the time, I reckon a separate, movable elevator wouldn't be a bad thing and if you maybe went down the route of converting an industrial/agricultural model then it could even be a fair bit cheaper too.

 

I never spent a lot of time using the Balfor saws, but I know that while I was there, there was always more 700 sawbenches on the lorry coming in from Balfor than anything else.

Kretzer had a billet machine at the apf made in germany exelent kit well made i am sure the had a inderpendent elervater , i have one of there machines and in 9 years there has only been 1 modification made to it

no new models every year just good solid stuff

___________on the factory tour I think we saw components being made on contract for the fuelwood range of fire wood processors _______but unfortunately agree with lack of uk manufacturing, we should be making more of the exchange rate situation
