HP required for TP200 chipper

As above, I have 70Hp tractor and wondering if that will comfortably run a TP200 (8inch). Used to use one on a mog 1000 and it was a joy to use and I love the big hopper. I doubt i ever chip bigger then 5inches max but could do with the extra inches to drag in bushy hawthorn that i so often get from hedgelaying/scrub clearance.

if the chiper comes fitted with no stress im sure you will be fine , the minimum HP requirement for a tp 200 is 40hp so you will breeze it , with no stress controle it will simply make feeding 8" timber a bit easyer on the tractor . Hope this helps Cheers Dave

great cheers, the tp website states 40hp as minimum but not sure whether they mean at the PTO or not, mine gives 53hp at the PTO apparently. As said not too fussed if its slow chipping the full 8inches but would be great if it pulled in the brash wihout too much bother.

with a sharp set of blades you will be fine , they usually go on tractor hp as opposed to hp at the shaft , im not sure why as most other manufacturers go off of the hp at the shaft .
