I like huck's analogy about M&S and Aldi and how true it is. There will all ways be a tier system to selling anything, round here there is a company selling kiln dried logs and they are the top tier as most expensive then a local estate who have lots of kit but lots of woodland, then there are the guys like me who sell a decent product for a fair price and then there are the guys selling fresh cut wood cheap. That's just how it is. I have my price and stick to it take it or leave it. I don't advertise logs anymore as I'm happy with the customers I have.

Crazy cutter, I started out trying to be the cheapest but last season and currently I have set my price at what I feel my time and product is worth.

If your not selling why not put your price up and see how you get on. You can always tell existing clients the old price if you think they won't pay more.

I deliver 0.7m3s of kiln dried logs to mansions and winter warmer special offers to council houses. Different products for different pockets.

Ive found It's not all about cubes of logs, briquettes and 40l nets are great sellers that have good margins.
