What do you have for a yard floor?

Lay a good thickness of demolition hardcore first, which is cheap and then type one / mot approx 100mm + ,depending on what you can afford at approx £35 per ton plus vat. Tracking type one in is ok, but I would hire a heavy vibrating roller for the day for a pucker job.

Well the yard has finally dried out for the first time since last spring so the yard is being done.

I have taken any opportunity over the last few months to scrape of any surface mud and chippings. The base hardcore turned out not to be to bad so less work and expense than expected.

It is a pleasure to watch a skilled JCB driver in action and the amount of work that has been done today is way beyond my expectations. The whole area was leveled off by lunch and the rest or the day was spent spreading 40 tons of 803 (40 mm to dust) over the top and fixing up a gateway. Tomorrow a heavy roller arrives to pack things down. Sorry no picture of the swamp that was here just a month ago but a couple of snaps of work in progress.
