The other people to try are people with horses - our neighbours will literally take as much as anyone can supply (only proviso that it doesn't have blackthorn or hawthorn in it). Not a problem though, as I can use the stuff with blackthorn and hawthorn in it.

Most farmers will have it off you and garden centres, you should never pay for getting rid of it!! Don't need to bother with carriers licence too then. You can pay me to have it off you though lol :-p

I known this is going off subject, but are we as a trade not exempt from requiring a waste carrier license?

yeah exempt at the moment till next year or 2014 i think when i looked into it. but if just carrying logs and woodchip, as they are 'products' then will be exempt anyway?

i know there are local lads on hear from my part and i believe veoli wanted wood chips to go in biomass boilers to make electricity. where taking it for free. as i am short of some to go on grandkids play area so any local tree guys on this site if you have some loads and up towards alresford more than happy to take them many loads as you want.

Should continue to be exempt I think(?). I know a couple of guys pulled over in their van with a load of chips at a police/dvla/ministry type road block vehicle check thing. They were threatened with prosecution for not having a waste license!! Stood their ground, nearly got knicked etc etc. Finally someone phoned someone and they were proved right.... Didn't even get an apology.
