Hi

Ive got a job fell to ground level Buddleja on a brown fields site. Within the buddleja there is some dead/dying japanese knotweed kanes.

I have the waste carriers license for knotweed. Can anyone tell me if dead kanes of japanese knotweed, still need to go to a licensed waste centre?

Yes if you take it off site you must deliver it to a licensed premises as it is a controlled waste.

There is no legal obligation on you to remove it from site.

It may be burned or buried on site but EA would like to know if you do and there are various specifications to adhere to.
