Average pay query

I've been asked to ask the collective consciousness of the 'talk how much the following PAYE employees get paid - the idea being that I can calculate an average to quickly see if pay is in the right ball park.

  • A climber with approx. 5 years experience aged 20 -30. Bunch of tickets / trailer licence / supplied PPE / not too much overtime blah blah Mr average but decent.

  • The above but in charge of a team of three.

Clearly there are lots of variables so this isn't going to be particularly accurate but I can live with that. If you could give me average annual salaries for both and whatever assumptions you've made in doing so it'd be much appreciated.

Last I heard in my bit of Cheshire your competent climber was on 300 a week or just short of that... after tax etc.

The team leader is normally the boss so he's on even less:001_smile:

Hope this helps, I'll leave you to do the maths Tony as per norm:001_smile:

From what i have gathered after applying for similar jobs to that described in somerset, the wages are alot lower than east anglia. A couple of guys i spoke to at established firms pay their main climbers/team leaders less than £80/day. A similar role in east anglia will get you £90+/day

edit: that would be around £19k and £23k+ respectively
