CS40, is it really worth it?

Thinking of next years tickets and have heard mixed views on this CS ticket.

Is it worth me forking out for this, or should I go straight in for 41 from a career point of view?

Done domestic, contract and other bits of jobs without any complaints. Was just wondering how everybody found this course and if they feel it was worth it.

Cheers everyone

I dont really see the point in it, I guess if your just starting out without any experience it could be worth it or you have to do it for employment reasons, but you soon learn these skills and get better and better at them by just doing your job id save your money and buy somthing shiney.

It just doesn'e seem you get many employers asking for this ticket, but you do see em asking for 41.

I would love to do 40 for the experience, but as everybody knows, these things are not cheap and it's cost me a fortune to get this far including all my kit, so if I don't need it, I aint gonna spend a fortune on doing it.

I did 40 and 41 plus assessment recently for £465 . Matter of honour for me ...some may differ . Do you know industry best practise for thinning and reductions ? What does this equate to volume wise cut on the ground ? :001_smile:

have beens asked once for CS40 by LA. I said, why don't you ask for photo's of recent crown reductions instead of having a ticket for a one or two day pruning course?. If you are inexperienced, yes its worth it. That said, I know blokes who have been doing reductions for 10 years...and they are still awful! :blushing:
