I think it's going to be a removal, low amenity value, high risk targets.

 

why? have you established the level of decay? NO

 

trees that are healthy and growing well compensate for decay, if the tree is dying back and sick then yes I may agree, but not without at the very least a core to confirm your prognosis.

Tree is seriously in decline, about a third of the top is dead and the remaining foliage is very sparse. There are similar smaller brackets on the other side of the tree too.

 

Hmmm.

Do you not trust good old fashioned "nouse"? You know, you look at a tree, it's moving wrong, it's just not right, it has for example Perriniporia around the base. Why put off the inevitable in a high risk zone? In a woodland setting, or a pasture, fence off and leave it be if necessary.

Not directed at anyone in particular.
