Hurricane Sandy!

So you may not be aware, but there is a huge hurricane right now heading up the East coast of America. It is a Frankenstorm, a Nor Easter storm with a hurricane in the middle. It is set to hit proper on mon/tue.

 

So who is up for flying over to help clean up the mess?

I won't be up until the 3rd for the TCIA Show. I wonder how it will be affected, if at all.

Get a head start, look forward to any pictures.

Bah, if I didnae have a busted leg I would have loved to fly in all heroic like and clear a bit of hurricane damage. But I think I would prefer to nip into the Caribbean (Jamaica/Cuba) for a working holiday than New York state!

 

Like ELG says, post some pics of the destruction if you get a proper battering.

Last year in Hartford CT. the show was still a go in spite of a really wicked Blzzard One week earlier. The attendence was not as strong as could have been with thousnads of crews working around the clock restoring power, at least on the last day show officials gave the crews a break and allowed free admision for the last day of the show . I believe nothing short of a direct hit on the convention center would postpone or cancle this event.

They wouldnt cancel it in a million years...too much money for them to lose. As you say, attendance might be down but as people have paid in advance for their tickets, cancelling the event would mean having to refund them.
