ND Arb qualified, seeking apprenticeship, anywhere.

I will be completing an ND in Forestry and Arb in June of this year and will come out with CS30, 31, 38 and 39. I have been offered the chance by my college of completing and NVQ Level 2 apprenticeship in a further 9 months if I wish to do so. Although this may seem like a step backwards (ND is a level 3 qual) I would, in the 9 months gain CS 32, 40, 47, PA1, PA6, MEWP Operator and NPTC Brushwood Chipper as well as experience.

 

It is experience in the industry which I am most keen to gain, rather than tickets, but I think this apprenticeship would be a great way to gain some more experience. I have already completed a 6 month work placement from June - December 2008.

 

If anyone thinks they may be able to offer me such an apprenticeship or has any ideas for me, please let me know.

you are right Dan. Nptc's and qualifications are good but coupled with a modern apprenticeship, well now we're talking.

I have no vacancy at present but you will get something. The employers benefits are they get a bod with a brain, that is going to get loads of nptc's for free. Downside is howlong are you going to stay?

1 of my x yoppers called me today looking for work, he headed off to be a joiner making big bucks, now the work has dried up he is down to just a couple of mornings a week.

Being born in 87 makes me 21! But I still qualify for the apprenticeship at college. I think it's anyone under 24 in England.
