Much quicker than doing it by hand. You quickly disappear under huge amounts of brash, so you need someone who is good at multi tasking on the crane, and a well organised site.

Log barron has one, and i am sure that he will have some pearls of wisdom for you.

Agree with all the above, a good clear landing with trees skidded in tree length, a crane with a good reach, so as you can stack the varying sized timber in decks, ie; 1st & 2nd lengths, pulp and fencing material, or forward out if cut at stump, but this would be better if clearfelling, or if brash mat is needed on soft / wet ground.

thanks guys , im just looking at options at the moment , there is not a large call for huge amounts of softwood felling down here but never the less it is a market that i/we want to get into . what sort of money does the Patu 40 HE sell for second hand ?
